Our school district uses the Character Counts program. In the classroom we work hard to develop strong character traits that will make our good students good people. The program stresses a consistent set of ethical values called the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. In our classroom, I expect each student to follow these three rules: 1. Be Safe
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Ready to Learn
I have three behavior programs in place:
Pride Paws: If a student receives a pride paw they can sign our Bingo Chart. At the end of each week I do a drawing and students get prizes from the prize box.
Class Tickets: This is a whole class incentive. If the class is on task, quiet in the halls or working cooperatively together, I will add tickets to a jar. When the jar is filled they can choose to have a popcorn party, pajama party or another prize.
Homeworkopoly: If students turn in all their homework, their completed reading log they can play "Homeworkopoly" on our Promethean Board where they can win prizes.
